One of the major services we provide to our market of business owners is the Business Survey and Analysis. The Business Survey and Analysis is a complete, objective review of an operating business's real performance and opportunities. This is a diagnostic tool used to help business owners evaluate their operational and fiscal situation.
  • The analysis is conducted under strict confidentiality on both an internal and external basis.
  • The BSA takes approximately 50 to 60 man-hours over a two to three week time period.
  • The analyst will review each functional area of the business and will examine and evaluate in detail each of the relevant sub-functions/activities. This process will not only highlight weaknesses but will also show what management is doing well and exceptionally well.
  • Financial analysis - To the extent financial information is available we will review and analyze four years of P&L's, balance sheets, cash flow statements and operational reports. This will also include a detailed ratio analysis. Comparisons and projections will be developed for "Best Demonstrated Performance"; Industry data, and to general business benchmarks.
  • Each of the following area will be reviewed in detail.
                   Financial management
                   Computerization
                   Operational Analysis
                   Marketing Analysis
                   Organizational Analysis
                   Personnel/Human Resources/Administration
                   Employees
Corporate growth, expansion and succession planning
  • Half way through the process we present our preliminary findings and request that the business owner validate and prioritize the problems and opportunities uncovered by the analysis.
  • We then develop a list of recommendations for solutions to the problems. This will be provided in a project format (area by area, function by function) with the specific steps to be taken and the projected dollar benefit of implementing the recommendations in each area.
  • On an overall basis we will determine the profit to be expected when the problems are resolved and we will develop a "predetermined" profit plan.
  • At the end of the survey process we will provide a written report detailing the analytical and operational findings, the recommendations and the projected profit improvement opportunities. will participate in a closing discussion to explain the report and answer any questions.
